Swing Motor - Disassemble

Start By:
- Remove the swing motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Swing Motor - Remove".
- Put identification marks on all parts of the swing motor for installation purposes.

- Remove mounting bolt (2) from the housing.

- Remove O-ring seal (8) and backup ring (7) from the plug.

- Remove O-ring seal (14) and backup ring (15) from the plug.

Illustration 14 g00533631 - Turn over the cover, as shown. Remove O-ring seal (29) from the cover. Remove retaining ring (30) and inner race (28) from the cover. Remove valve plate (27). Remove the two pistons and two rings from the cover. Remove the four bushings, four rings and four plates from the cover.

Install the remainder of Tooling (A), as shown. Alternate the tightening of the two nuts of Tooling (A) in order to pull piston (32) from the motor housing.

Illustration 21 g00533672 - Turn over motor housing (38), as shown. Use a soft faced hammer to tap on the end of barrel (37). This should free the barrel from the motor housing. Remove the motor housing from the barrel.

- Use Tooling (B) to remove bearing cone (40) from the barrel.
- Remove plate (41).
- Put identification marks on the nine pistons for installation purposes.
- Remove retainer plate (42) and the seven pistons from barrel (43).
