Introduction
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read this information and you have understood this information.
This Special Instruction contains the information that is necessary to install 124-2448 Accessory Module Support or 124-2450 Accessory Module Support on the 3600 Engines.
Installation Procedure
- Place the engine package in the final location.

- Attach isolators (9) to the foundation.
- Locate the support legs according to above illustrations. Attach the legs to the bottom of the accessory module with sixteen 1A-8063 Bolts (6) .

- Place four 4B-3584 Screws (8) into the feet of the support legs.
- Place the steel plates (11) that are customer supplied directly under the feet of the support legs. Tighten four screws (8) until these screws are in contact with the plates (11) .

- Place one 124-2460 Strap (2) through the center of each 124-0530 Bracket (10) and around the lower frame of the accessory module. Ratchet down the strap on each bracket.
- Remove the two 124-1384 Braces (1). These braces are used only for shipping support.
- Loosen the sixteen 1A-8063 Bolts (3) that are used to attach the accessory module to the mounting pads for the bracket. Relieve the tension, but leave the bolts threaded in place.
- Tighten the four 4B-3584 Screws (8) until a clearance is obtained between the bottom of the footpad on the module and the top of the bracket mounting pad. This action will shift the weight from the brackets onto the support legs.
- Adjust the position of the accessory module with four screws (8) . The maximum allowable misalignment between flanges on the engine and the flanges of the accessory module is a tolerance of ± 3.18 mm (0.125 inch). The flanges must be parallel within a tolerance of 3.18 mm (0.125 inch).
- Shim the support legs after the correct alignment has been achieved. Apply grout to the support legs. Anchor the support legs to the foundation with two bolts (7) for each leg. Bolts (7) are provided by the customer.
Note: Follow the instructions of the manufacturer for the application of the grout.
- Fully remove the sixteen 1A-8063 Bolts (3) that are used to secure the accessory module to the brackets.
- Be sure that the 124-2460 Straps (2) are secured in place. Loosen the sixteen 1D-4709 Bolts (4) from the inside of the front plate of the base.
- Continue to completely remove the eight 1D-4709 Bolts (4). Secure one of the brackets to the engine base.
Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation. Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation. |
- When these bolts (4) are removed, release the ratchet lock on the 124-2460 Strap (2). Then, slowly lower the bracket to the ground.
- Repeat Step 14 and Step 15 for the remaining bracket.
