NOTE:

This Containment Program can be administered either before or after a failure occurs. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim.

NOTE:	When reporting the repair, use "PS90636" as the Part Number and "7777" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as Warranty Claim Description and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
NOTE:	The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

The existing main hydraulic pump, with the serial number 27224624 and before, do not have all of the improved parts in existing pump. Main hydraulic pumps with the serial number 27224624 and before can have internal failures.

Rework Procedure

If the existing pump serial number is 27224624 or before, perform the Rework Procedure below.

1. Replace existing pump with a new 369-9676 Hydraulic Pump Group, following KENR6406, "Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Hydraulic Pump - Remove and Install".
Before the installation, check the serial number of 369-9676 for replacement is "27224625 or after" (These pumps have all improved parts).

2. A previous Service Letter may have not been completed on the Affected Product. This Rework Procedure is dependent upon proper completion of Service Letter PI32193 (REBE9857).

- If the hose routing around the existing (failed) pump looks like Image1, the machine has NOT applied Service Letter PI32193 (REBE9857) or failed to be included in Service Letter PI32193 (REBE9857). In this case, replacement of the hoses is necessary, refer only to the Rework steps in REBE9857 in order to complete replacement of the hoses. Contact your Caterpillar Service Representative before replacement of the hoses for further information regarding coverage for parts and labor.

- If the hose routing around the existing (failed) pump looks like Image2, the machine has applied Service Letter PI32193 (REBE9857), the hose routing is correct, continue with the following rework.

3. Calibrate the margin pressure. Refer to KENR7775, Testing and Adjusting, "Margin Pressure - Test and Adjust", for additional information.

4. Take a photo of the existing pump serial number tag on the machine and a photo of the new pump serial number tag and please upload all the above information into SIMSi when claiming against the Service Letter. This information need to be included in the service report that is entered into SIMSi, which allows tracking by machine serial number.
