Harness Code Mode is Mode 1. When the Main Display Module is in the Harness Code Mode, the display shows the engine code. This engine code must correspond to the engine sales model of the engine that is being monitored. The engine code is a two-digit representation of the harness code. An incorrect harness code may result in incorrect operation of the Caterpillar Monitoring System. This could cause the Caterpillar Monitoring System to record excessive Diagnostic Service Codes.
