Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem and is recommending the following interim corrective solution.
Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility. |
Required Parts | ||
Qty | Part Number | Part Name |
1 | 425-2317 | Hose As |
In case of failure, replace the failed hose assembly (B) with a new part of the same part number.
In the event of failure, provide pictures and additional information along with TIB Media Number M0098592, CPI# 427349, Machine S/N, origin of failure, and part hours at failure through the dealer Technical Communicator (TC). Request the Dealer TC to submit the information through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi).
If there is a failure, create a Service Information Management System (SIMS) entry for the failed component to generate a "Send-It-Back" (SIB) request. An SIB request will be issued through the SIB process after the SIMS entry is created. Submit the failed component and reference CPI number 427349 to SIMS.
In the event of hydraulic oil venting from the tank breathers, or 425-2317 Hose As failing, it is important to ensure the Hydraulic tank oil level is correct. This should prevent hydraulic oil venting from the tank breathers during operation of the machine.
Checking of Hydraulic Tank Oil Level
- Prepare the machine for maintenance.
Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance" of the respective machine.
- Shut off the engine and allow the level of the oil to stabilize.
Show/hide table
Illustration 4 g06433650 (D) Black line (upper level)
(E) Red line (minimum level) - Maintain the oil level in between black line (D) (upper level) and red line (E) (minimum level).
- When the oil is at cold temperature, the level should not go below red line (E) (minimum level) in gauge.
- When the oil is at operating temperature, the level should not go beyond black line (D) (upper level) in the gauge.
