Problem

Hydraulic tubes on certain Motor Graders have poor braze quality. The poor braze issues are the result of an incorrect production process at the tube supplier. Failures of these parts will result in oil leaks at the brazed end of the tube assembly.

Caterpillar is aware of this problem. In the event of a leak, replace the failed part with the same part.

Reference: Refer to Illustration 1 to locate the heat code on the tube. The heat code will be listed near the part number stamped in the center portion of the tube.

Reference: Refer to Table 1 for the part number and the heat code for the respective tube. If the heat code listed is stamped on the tube, replace the failed part with the same part number.
