Description Of Change: New pins are used in the axle support group and the rear housing group on the machines listed above. The spacing between the frame mounting lugs on the frame has been reduced which, with the new pins, eliminates the air gap between the retaining plates and the pins. The new pins and spacing create a solid bolted joint with and improved service life.
Adaptable To: The 420-5462 Pin is effective with all the products after the listed serial numbers.
The 420-5462 Pin is adaptable to the products within the listed serial number. Since the frame is not changed, install a 8C-6913 Hard Washer or a 5P-8249 Hard Washer (B) between one of the retaining plates and the new pin used to connect the stabilizer link to the frame. Adding a washer with the new pin will eliminate the air gap between the retaining plates and the pin to create a solid bolted joint. The pin used to connect the stabilizer link to the axle housing does not need an extra washer.

The 7D-3009 Pin can continue to be used provided 8C-6913 Hard Washer or 5P-8249 Hard Washer (B) are installed between the retaining plate and the pin to form a solid joint. For the pin connecting the stabilizer link and the rear axle housing, one washer should be sufficient. For the pin connecting the stabilizer link and the frame, three washers may be required. To keep the pin centered as close as possible, start with two placed between the pin and rear retaining plate and one placed between the pin and front retaining plate. With the washers installed, there should be a small gap between at least one of the retaining plates and the mounting lugs on both pins.
