New Software is Now Used on Certain M Series Motor Graders {7620}

Description Of Change: The new software has various improvements and enhancements for systems like implement, steering, transmission/chassis, relay driver, All Wheel Drive (AWD), message display, information display, and Vital Information Management System (VIMS).

Adaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the products within the listed serial numbers, and are effective with all products after the listed serial numbers.

Note: Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) software version 2016A v1.0 is required to configure machine hardware after flash is complete.

Note: After flashing new software to an Electronic Control Module (ECM) or multiple ECMs, always reset the ECM by cycling the power supply. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position. Wait 10 seconds and turn the key start switch to ON position or start the engine. Verify that the operation of the machine is correct and that no new diagnostics have been activated.

The new and former software part numbers are listed in Table 1.

  • Updated Cross Slope Diagnostic to avoid nuisance codes.

  • Updated Advanced Control Joysticks (ACJ) enablement to make more reliable.

Improvements and Features of 550-6068 Power Train Software Gp

The new Power Train software group has the below mentioned update:

  • Improved 14M3, 16M3, and 18M3 transmission clutch durability by reducing their clutch hold current.

Note: When updating the software, refer to UENR4633-03"Testing and Adjusting" procedure for the revised 14M3, 16M3, and 18M3 clutch pressures.

Improvements and Features of 550-6070 Implement Software Gp

The new Implement software group has various improvements and features that are listed below:

  • Updated to correct trial time period for the software enable attachment "Automatic Articulation" feature.

  • Improved "Keypad Help Text" descriptions for emissions related keypad buttons.
