Front of Machine (1) Front propulsion motors (2) Port"X" (3) Port"1" (4) Port"L" (5) Port"R" (6) Port"Y" |
The machine is equipped with two front propel motors. Each motor is a radial-piston type motor with two speeds.
Both front propel motors (1) are equipped with a hydraulic shift actuator. The two-position actuator controls the position of the valve segment in the motor. The valve segment position determines the displacement and speed of the motor.
A brake assembly is contained within each front propel motor (1). When the interlock valve in the propel pump is energized, charge oil is directed from the pump into port"X" (2) of each motor. When this happens, the front parking brakes are released.
Port"1" (3) is the case drain line for front propel motors (1). Return oil is directed from the motor case to the return manifold.
Port"L" (4) and port"R" (5) are forward and reverse supply ports for the motors.
Charge oil from the shift solenoid is directed to port"Y" (6) of each forward motor. This oil shifts the position of the speed valve inside the motors. When oil pressure is not applied to the speed valves, oil in the circuit causes the motors to operate at low speed. When oil pressure is applied to the speed valve, the front motors shift to high. This shift causes the motors to operate at high speed.
Each front motor is equipped with a speed sensor (not shown). A gear on the output shaft of the motor rotates past the tip of the speed sensor. Each time a tooth passes the sensor, an electrical impulse is generated. The machine ECM converts the frequency of the impulses to a machine speed.

Rear of Machine (7) Rear propulsion motors (8) Port"X" (9) Port"1" (10) Port"L" (11) Port"R" |
The machine is equipped with two rear propel motors. Each motor is a radial-piston type motor.
A brake assembly is contained within each rear propel motor (7). When the interlock valve in the propel pump is energized, charge oil is directed from the pump into port"X" (8) of each motor. When this happens, the front parking brakes are released.
Port"1" (9) is the case drain line for rear propel motors (7). Return oil is directed from the motor case to the return manifold.
Port"L" (10) and port"R" (11) are forward and reverse supply ports for the motors.
Each rear motor is equipped with a speed sensor (not shown). A gear on the output shaft of the motor rotates past the tip of the speed sensor. Each time a tooth passes the sensor, an electrical impulse is generated. The machine ECM converts the frequency of the impulses to a machine speed.
