There is one oil filter for the power train oil. There are two oil filters for the Torque Converter. Oil filter (1) for the power train is located in front of the fuel tank on the left side of the machine. Oil filter (1) is equipped with bypass switch (2).
Oil from the transmission charge pump section flows to power train oil filter (1) through the inlet of the filter.
During normal operation, the oil flows through the filter elements. The oil flows from the element to the outlets.
If the filter element becomes full of debris, the restriction to the flow of oil causes the pressure to increase. The increased pressure triggers bypass switch (2) and the oil then can bypass filter (1). When the oil does not flow through the filter element, the debris that bypasses the filter will damage the other components in the power train system.
Use correct maintenance to make sure that the filter element does not become full of debris. If the filter element is full of debris, the flow of clean oil to the power train system is stopped.
