The housing for the magnetic screens is on the right side of the planetary case of the transmission. As the oil is pulled up from the bottom of the transmission by the power train gear pump, the oil goes through the magnetic screens. The oil flows through the openings between magnets. The magnets are installed so that the same magnetic ends are next to each other.

As the oil flows over the magnets, metal particles are collected by the magnets. The oil then flows through the screen where other foreign particles are stopped. Ideally, the particles are prevented from entering the power train system.
