The gear pump for the power train is on the left side of the torque converter housing.

The power train gear pump is powered by a gearing within the torque converter housing. Power from the torque converter is transferred up to gears that connect through a shaft to the gear pump for the power train.

The Gear pump pulls oil from the sump in the torque converter housing. The oil flows through the magnetic screen in the housing, through the gear pump, and to the power train oil filter. The oil is then distributed to the transmission.
