Spray Nozzle - Test and Adjust

Usage:

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.


Note: The water tank must contain water to perform this test.

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  2. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  4. Place the engine in ECO mode or low idle.

    1. Select "Main Menu" (3) on the machine display.

    2. Select "Machine Setup" (4).

    3. Select "Engine Spd Sw" (5).

    4. Select "ECO" (6) or "Low" (7).

  5. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

  6. If necessary, lift the scraper, and release lanyards (9) on both sides of the scraper. Allow scraper (10) to rest against the drum.

  7. Move engine start switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

  8. Press water pump selector switch (11) to select the water spray pump "1".

    Note: When water spray pump "1" is selected, "Water Pump 1" will appear on display, and one LED next to water pump selector switch (11) will be illuminated.

  9. Press water spray increase switch (12) to provide continuous spray.

    Note: Two things indicate when the water system is in continuous spray mode. First, "Water Mode Control % 100" will appear on the display. Second, seven LEDs next to water spray increase switch (12) will be illuminated.

  10. Press water control switch (13) on the propel lever once to start the water system.

  11. Examine the spray pattern on each drum. The spray stream should hit the drum, and the spray should cover the entire width of the drum.

  12. If the spray does not hit the drum, loosen two clamps (14), and rotate the spray bar to attain the desired spray direction.

  13. Hold the spray bar in place, and tighten two clamps (14).

  14. If the spray does not cover the entire drum, use a flat screwdriver to rotate spray nozzle tip (16) in collet (15). Adjust the nozzle tips to attain the desired radial spray pattern.

    Note: The spray system is adjusted correctly when the water spray covers 100 percent of the drum, parallel to the spray bar.

  15. Press water control switch (13) on the propel lever, once to stop the water system.

  16. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

  17. Close and latch the front spray bar cover.

  18. If necessary, repeat Step 7 through Step 17 for the water spray bar on the rear drum.
