Fan Motor Speed (Radiator Cooling) - Test and Adjust

Usage:

CB10 5B4

------ WARNING! ------

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from rotating and moving parts. Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.

Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.

The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.

Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from sudden machine movement.

Sudden movement of the machine can cause injury to persons on or near the machine.

To prevent injury or death, make sure that the area around the machine is clear of personnel and obstructions before operating the machine.

  8. Remove pin "11" (13) or pin "12" (14) from main harness assembly connector (12) to disconnect the fan motor solenoid.

  9. Move engine start switch (8) to the START position. Release the switch when the engine starts.

  10. Operate the hydraulic system until the oil temperature reaches the test temperature of 45 °C (113 °F).

  11. Read fan speed on Tool (A). The speed should be 2100 ± 100 rpm.

  12. Place the engine in ECO mode or in low idle.

  13. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

  14. If the fan speed is not within specification: Test the charge pressure. Refer to "Relief Valve (Charge) Test and Adjust" . If, the fan speed is not in within the specification and the charge pressure is correct. Refer to "Fan Motor Speed Calibration". If the charge pressure is correct and the fan motor is calibrated but the fan speed is not within the specification, replace the fan motor.

  15. Connect pin "11" (13) or pin "12" (14) to main harness assembly connector (12).

  16. Close the right engine compartment door.
