Water Spray Pump Flow - Test

Usage:

Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.

Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.

Note: The water tank must contain water to perform this test.

  1. Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

  2. Move propel lever (1) to the NEUTRAL position.

  3. Move parking brake switch (2) to the ON position.

  4. Place the engine in ECO mode or low idle.

    1. Select "Main Menu" (3) on the machine display.

    2. Select "Machine Setup" (4).

    3. Select "Engine Spd Sw" (5).

    4. Select "ECO" (6) or "Low" (7).

  5. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

  6. Assemble Tool (A). Assemble Tool (B). Connect Tool (B) to Tool (A).

  7. Connect Tool (B) to drain valve (9). Open the drain valve.

  8. Close drain valve (10) on the rear spray bar.

  9. Remove each locking collet (11) from the front spray bar. If necessary, remove the filter from the spray bar.

    Note: The seal and the nozzle remain with the locking collet when the collet is removed. The filter may remain in the spray bar. To prevent the loss of the filter, remove the filter after the locking collet is removed.

  10. Remove each locking collet (11) from the rear spray bar. If necessary, remove the filter from the spray bar.

    Note: The seal and the nozzle remain with the locking collet when the collet is removed. The filter may remain in the spray bar. To prevent the loss of the filter, remove the filter after the locking collet is removed.

  11. Remove the following components from each locking collet (11):

    • Nozzle (12)

    • Seal (13)

    • Filter (14) (if necessary)

  12. Place a piece of electrical tape over the inlet port of each nozzle (12).

  13. Install the following components in locking collet (11):

    • Nozzle (12)

    • Seal (13)

    • Filter (14) (if necessary)

  14. Install each locking collet (11) on the spray bars.

  15. Move engine start switch (8) to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

  16. Press water pump selector switch (15) to select the water spray pump "1".

    Note: Two things indicate when water pump "1" is selected. First, "Water Mode Pump 1" will appear on the display. Second, the first LED next to water pump selector switch (15) will be illuminated.

  17. Use water spray increase switch (16) to select continuous spray.

    Note: Two things indicate when the water system is in continuous spray mode. First, "Water Mode Control % 100" will appear on the display. Second, seven LEDs next to water spray increase switch (16) will be illuminated.

  18. Press water control switch (17) on the propel control lever once to start the water system.

  19. Read pressure on Tool (A). The pressure should be 300 ± 30 kPa (43 ± 4 psi).

  20. Press water control switch (17) on the propel lever once to stop the water system.

  21. Open drain valve (10) on the rear spray bar to purge the pressure from the system. Close the drain valve.

  22. Use water pump selector switch (15) to select water pump "2".

    Note: Two things indicate when water pump "2" is selected. First, "Water Mode Pump 2" will appear on the display. Second, the second LED next to water pump selector switch (15) will be illuminated.

  23. Press water control switch (17) on the propel control lever once to start the water system.

  24. Read pressure on Tool (A). The pressure should be 300 ± 30 kPa (43 ± 4 psi).

  25. Press water control switch (17) on the propel lever once to stop the water system.

  26. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position

  27. Remove each locking collet (11) from the rear spray bar. If necessary, remove filter (14) from the spray bar.

    Note: Seal (13) and nozzle (12) remain with locking collet (11) when the collet is removed. Filter (14) may remain in the spray bar. To prevent the loss of the filter, remove the filter after the locking collet is removed.

  28. Remove the following components from locking collet (11):

    • Filter (14) (if necessary)

    • Seal (13)

    • Nozzle (12)

  29. Remove the piece of electrical tape from the inlet port of each nozzle (12).

  30. Install the following components in locking collet (11):

    • Nozzle (12)

    • Seal (13)

    • Filter (14)

  31. Install each locking collet (11) on the rear spray bar

  32. Remove each locking collet (11) from the front spray bar. If necessary, remove filter (14) from the spray bar.

    Note: Seal (13) and nozzle (12) remain with locking collet (11) when the collet is removed. Filter (14) may remain in the spray bar. To prevent the loss of the filter, remove the filter after the locking collet is removed.

  33. Remove the following components from locking collet (11):

    • Filter (14) (if necessary)

    • Seal (13)

    • Nozzle (12)

  34. Remove the piece of electrical tape from the inlet port of each nozzle (12).

  35. Install the following components in locking collet (11):

    • Nozzle (12)

    • Seal (13)

    • Filter (14)

  36. Install each locking collet (11) on the front spray bar.

  37. Move engine start switch (8) to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

  38. Use water pump selector switch (15) to select water pump "1".

  39. Press water control switch (17) on the propel lever once to start the water system.

  40. Read pressure on Tool (A). The pressure should reach a maximum of 193 ± 30 kPa (28 ± 4 psi).

  41. Use water pump selector switch (15) to select water spray pump "2".

  42. Read pressure on Tool (A). The pressure should reach a maximum of 193 ± 30 kPa (28 ± 4 psi).

  43. Press water control switch (17) on the propel lever once to stop the water system.

  44. Move engine start switch (8) to the OFF position.

  45. Close drain valve (9). Remove the tooling.

  46. Replace the appropriate pump if the pump does not operate within the specified parameters.

  47. If necessary, adjust the spray nozzles. Refer to "Spray Nozzle Adjust" .
