A diffuser for rims is now available on the machines listed above.

(1) 445-9731 Diffuser

445-9731 Diffuser (1) will release pressure if the internal tire pressure exceeds 1310 kPa (190 psi), preventing tire rupture in the event of overheating.

For machining a threaded hole in prior Large Off-Highway Trucks rims, refer to most recent version of Special Instruction, M0072062, "Machining a Threaded Hole to Allow the Assembly of a Diffuser Valve in the Rims of Large Off-Highway Trucks" .

Note: The port plug should not be removed unless the diffuser is going to be installed.

If the port plug is removed and needs to be reinstalled, apply Loctite 536 to threads (taking care not to apply sealant to tip of plug) and retorque to 100 to 115 N·m (74 to 85 lb ft) to ensure proper sealing.
