如果主转速/正时传感器 (1) 无法感测发动机转速，"诊断"灯将指示诊断故障代码，代码将会记录在 ECM 存储器中。
如果主转速/正时传感器 (2) 无法感测发动机转速，自动系统设定将会使用辅助转速/正时传感器 (1) 。 直到主转速/正时传感器被更换之前，将会一直使用辅助转速/正时传感器。
转速/正时传感器失效
如果出现了下列任一情况，说明转速/正时传感器可能已发生故障：
- 转速/正时传感器输出开路。
- 转速/正时传感器对地短路。
- 转速/正时传感器对电源短路。
- 转速/正时传感器遗漏脉冲。
- 转速/正时传感器有多余脉冲。
间歇性失效导致发动机控制反常。 电子控制系统将会检测到主转速/正时传感器发生的故障。 操作员将会受到来自诊断灯的警告。
