Autonomous Stop (A-Stop) transmitter | |
The Autonomous Stop system (A-Stop system) provides a means of stopping an autonomous machine remotely. The means of stoppage is independent and not tied to the Cat MineStar System office software or the mine sites wireless network. This stoppage is accomplished by the use of an onboard receiver and a handheld transmitter that is to be carried by all personnel working in areas where autonomous machines are present. By activating an "A-Stop" on the transmitter, any autonomous machine in an autonomous or remote control mode within range of the transmitter will aggressively stop. The machine will remain stopped until the person who initiated the stop uses the same remote transmitter to cancel the stop and sends a "clear" signal.
The A-Stop system can be used to stop the autonomous machines in the area in case of emergency or unplanned need.
Each person working in the area of autonomous operation shall be issued an A-Stop transmitter and is required to carry the transmitter whenever inside the autonomous operating zone.
