A New Fill Tube Cover for the Diesel Emissions Fluid (DEF) Tank is Now Available for Certain 770G and 772G Off-Highway Trucks {108T}

Usage:

770G KDH

Off Highway Truck: 770G (S/N: RMA1-UP; KDH1-UP); 772G (S/N: KEX1-UP)

Description Of Change: A new fill tube cover for the Diesel Emissions Fluid (DEF) tank is now available for certain 770G and 772G Off-Highway Trucks. The new fill tube cover will help to prevent dirt and debris from entering the tank when removing the fill cap.

Adaptable To: The new 493-6051 Cover helps to prevent contamination into the DEF tank.

The new fill tube cover is adaptable to the following machines:

KDH1-316
RMA1-1
KEX1-207

The new fill tube cover is effective with the following machines:

KDH317-UP
RMA2-UP
KEX208-UP

The new 493-6051 Cover is adaptable to previous machines and can be installed with one 285-1163 Cable and one 5P-7958 Cable Splice Sleeve.

Refer to the procedure below for instructions to install a new fill tube cover.

Prepare the machine for maintenance. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Prepare the Machine for Maintenance".

(A) Bolt
(1) 285-1163 Cable
Remove and retain bolt (A) that secures the cover to the fuel tank.
Secure cable (1) around bolt (A) and reinstall bolt (A).

Slide cover (2) over the fill tube on the tank.
Insert the loose end of cable (1) through the hole of cover (2).
Secure cable (1) with cable splice sleeve (3).
