SUBJECT: Eaton Top Two and Ultrashift Transmission Problems.

PROBLEM:

There have been a few reports of Eaton transmission shifting and launching problems.

Eaton Top Two transmission will not automatically shift between top gear minus one and top gear.

Eaton Top Two transmission will shift cycle between top gear minus one and top gear when it is under full load on small rolling hills.

Eaton Ultrashift transmission has a soft launch feel or excessively long launch under heavy loaded conditions or while launching on a grade.

Eaton Ultrashift transmission is unstable when trying to maneuver the vehicle (creep control).

Note: There are no active or logged fault codes generated.

SOLUTION:

Flash the ECM with new release software. Refer to Table 1.
