Assembly Preparation
Necessary Equipment and Supplies for Assembly
The following items are required in order to retrofit the 797 Off-Highway Truck with the C175-20 engine:
- Nine
208 L (55 US gal) barrels of hoist, brake cooling, and brake system oil (TDTO, TO-4). SAE viscosity grade 10 is recommended. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for more details. - 6 bbl of transmission, torque converter, steering, and fan drive oil (TDTO, TO-4). Each barrel is equivalent to
208 L (55 US gal) . The recommended SAE viscosity grade is 30. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for more details. - 6 bbl of extended life coolant ELC are required. Each barrel is equivalent to
208 L (55 US gal) . Commercial grade ELC that meets (EC-1) is acceptable. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for more details. - Cables, straps, and chains that have adequate capacity
- Two shackles with a load limit of
122460 kg (270000 lb) - Two shackles with a working load limit of
72580 kg (160000 lb) - One air compressor that has a minimum capacity of
3 CM (100 CFM) and capable of operating two air driven tools - Four hardwood blocks that are
203 mm (8.0 inch) square and244 cm (96 inch) long - Eight hardwood blocks that are
203 mm (8.0 inch) square and122 cm (48 inch) long - Step ladders that are
1.8 m (6 ft) tall - Step ladders that are
3.6 m (12 ft) tall - At least
7.6 m (300 inch) of rope that is19 mm (0.75 inch) in diameter - A lift truck with a minimum capacity of
9072 kg (20000 lb) - Two man lifts with a minimum lift height of
6 m (20 ft) . - Paint spray gun
