Problem

There have been reports stating that the battery in the machine will not hold a charge or becomes dead in a short amount of time. After analyzing failure data, the data determined that the vast majority of all failures occur when machines were stored outside for months at a time.

Solution

Apply Special Instruction, SEHS9031, "Storage Procedure for Caterpillar Products" has not been followed for machine storage. Recommend following storage procedures during winter months when the machine is going to be stored for longer periods of time.
