PROBLEM
The existing 262-2891, 347-2382, 340-3639, and 238-2707 piston rings have been found incorrectly packaged in some cases. If installed in an engine, issues with oil control or liner damage can occur. |
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 262-2891, 347-2382, 340-3639, and 238-2707 piston rings in dealer parts stock for proper packaging. Inspect the part number on the packaging and inspect the part number on the piston ring. If the part number on the packaging and the part number on the piston ring does not match, then remove the part from dealer parts stock. Refer to the Parts Disposition. If the part number on the packaging and the part number on the piston ring does match, then mark the packaging to indicate that the part has been inspected according to this program and return the part to dealer parts stock. |
