Preparation And Use Of 6V6015 Hose Cutoff Machine{0678}

Usage:

ALL CATERPILLAR XT-HOSE

6V6015 Hose Cutoff Machine can cut all types of Caterpillar XT-hose. The 6V6015 Hose Cutoff Machine and the 6V6017 Fume Exhauster, which is optional, can be operated on most electrical supply sources by changing heaters and coils in the switch and by changing the motor wiring for either low (230) or high (380 and 460) voltages. To make necessary connections, see the instructions that follow.

Connection Of 6V6015 Hose Cutoff Machine For Correct Electrical Arrangement

(1) As cutoff motor (1) comes from the factory, the wiring is for low voltage (230 volts). If high voltage is needed, see wiring diagram (2). For 380 and 460 volts, use the high voltage diagram. Line wires L1, L2 and L3 must be connected to motor wires 1, 2 and 3, respectively. Connect motor wire 4 to motor wire 7, 5 to 8 and 6 to 9.

NOTE: If the hose cutoff machine has a fume exhauster, the line wires (1, 2 and 3) of the exhauster motor must be connected to line wires 1, 2 and 3 of cutoff motor (1), respectively.

(2) The standard voltage for fume exhauster motor (3) is also wired for low voltage (230 volts). If high voltage is needed, remove cover (4) from fume exhauster motor (3). Wiring diagram (5) is on the inside of cover (4).

(3) For 380 and 460 volts, follow the high voltage diagram. Connect line wires L1, L2 and L3 to motor wires T1, T2 and T3 respectively. Connect motor wires T4 to T7, T5 to T8 and T6 to T9.

(4) Remove cover (6) from switch box (7). The switch box is wired for an electrical supply source of 230 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz. If the electrical supply source is different, see the chart that follows for the electrical supply source to be used. Remove coil (8) and the three heaters (9) and install the correct coil and heaters.

(5) Connect electrical line (source) wiring (10) to switch box (7) at connectors (11). Check the rotation of cutoff motor (1) and fume exhauster motor (3). If rotation is not correct, change any two wires at connectors (11) to get the correct rotation. Install the cover.

(6) The fumes exhauster has a 127.0 mmØ (5.00"Ø) opening (12) to remove the fumes. Fasten a smooth, rigid, duct material [127.0 mmØ (5.00"Ø) and a maximum length of 6.1 m (20.0')] over opening (12) to carry the fumes away. There should be little or no bends in the duct.

(7) Because this abrasive type machine makes more dust and small abrasive particles than the former cutoff saws, a small amount of cleaning must be done to the hose liner. Use compressed air to blow out material from inside the hose. Wipe out the liner at each end with a dry cloth for a length equal to the stem of the coupling to be installed on the hose.
