Installation Of Electric Wiper Motors{7300, 7305} Caterpillar

Many wiper motors are the same, except for the position of the crank arm. If the part number that was ordered is different from the original part number, it may be necessary to change the position of the crank arm.

1 Remove the wiper group from the cab; see the Service Manual.

2 Measure angle (A) between bracket (1) and crank arm (2) on both the former and new wiper group. If the angles are not the same, remove crank arm (2) from the new wiper group and move it to the same angle (A) as on former group.

NOTE: This procedure is the same as rotating the crank arm 180°. Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 8 to 10 N·m (6 to 7 lb-ft).
