When a service replacement engine block or oil pan base is installed, check the diamter of holes (A) in the block (used to fasten the block to the oil pan base) to make sure they are 21.44Ø (.844"Ø), except for 22.245Ø (.8758"Ø) hole (B) on the right side at the rear of the block. If not the correct diameter, drill holes (A) out to 21.44Ø (.844"Ø) and install hard flat washers under the bolt heads.
When a service replacement oil pan base or support rails are installed, check mounting holes (C) and (D) to make sure they are 23.01Ø (.906"Ø). If not, drill them out to 23.01Ø (.906"Ø).
NOTE: Remove all lockwashers used under the bolt heads and install hard flat washers.
On industrial rails, also add hard flat washers under the nuts on the bolts used through the rails at location (D). If the existing bolts used with the 3/4"-10 nuts on industrial rails are 57 (2.25") long, remove them and install 64 (2.50") long bolts. If the bolts used with the 1.0"-8 nuts are 83 (3.25") long, remove them and install 89 (3.50") long bolts.
NOTE: All the hole sizes given above are only for holes without threads.
