Start By:

  1. Remove the fan drive pump.

  1. Clean the outside of the piston pump thoroughly prior to disassembly.

  1. In order to protect the shaft seal, use an adhesive tape to cover the drive shaft.

  1. Remove bolts (2) and compensator valve (1) from pump body (3) .

  1. Remove seal (4) from compensator valve (1) .

  1. Remove plugs (5), plug (6) and the O-ring seals from compensator valve (1) .

  1. Remove plug (11), O-ring seal (10), springs (9), guide (8), and spool (7) from compensator valve (1) .

  1. Remove plug (16), O-ring seal (15), springs (14), guide (13), and spool (12) from compensator valve (1) .

  1. Remove bolts (17) from head assembly (18) .

  1. Remove head assembly (18) .

  1. Remove port plate (19) and O-ring seal (20) from head assembly (18) .

  1. Remove bearing cup (21) from head assembly (18) .

  1. Remove bearing cone (22) .

  1. Remove O-ring seal (23) .

  1. Remove adjustment shim (24) .

  1. Remove plug (25) and the O-ring seal.

  1. Carefully place the pump in a horizontal position.

  1. Remove rotary group (26) .

  1. Remove piston assemblies (27) and piston retainer (28) from barrel assembly (29) .

  1. Remove retaining ball (30) from barrel assembly (29) .

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Sudden release of spring force can cause injury.

    To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve the spring pressure.

    ----------------------

    Note: There is spring force against retaining ring (31). When retaining ring (31) is removed, the spring force will be released. Removal of the internal assembly components in barrel (29) should be performed in a press. This is done in order to retain spring (34) and retaining ring (31) .

  1. Use a press and Tooling (A) to compress the spring in barrel assembly (29) .

  1. Remove retaining ring (31), spring (34), guide (33), and pins (32) from barrel assembly (29) .

  1. Move the swashplate up and down in order to remove the control piston (35) .

    Note: In order to release piston rod (36) from the swashplate, lift the swashplate a little and move the piston rod sideways.

  1. Remove piston rod (36) .

  1. Remove spring (38) .

  1. Remove shaft assembly (40) .

  1. Remove retaining ring (41) .

  1. Remove lip seal (42) .

  1. Remove plugs (43) and the O-ring seals.

  1. Remove bearing cup (44) from pump body (3) .

  1. Use Tooling (B) and a suitable press to remove bearing cone (46) from shaft (40) .
