Gear Pump (Transmission Charging and Torque Converter Scavenge)

The gear pump has two sections:
- transmission charging pump section (1) .
- torque converter scavenge pump section (2) .
The charging section on the drive end gets oil from the reservoir in the transmission output transfer gear case. Oil is sent under pressure to the transmission oil filter and on to the transmission hydraulic controls.
The torque converter scavenge section on the cover end gets oil from bottom of the torque converter updrive housing. The oil is then returned to the reservoir in the transmission output transfer gear case.
