A magnetic screen 2 is located inside the output transfer gear housing (1). Oil from the bottom of the output transfer gear housing flows through an inlet passage. As the oil flows through the screen 2, particles in the oil are stopped by the screen 2 from entering the transmission hydraulic system.
The oil flows through the screen 2, and around and through magnets. The magnets are installed on the tube assembly so that the same magnetic ends are next to each other. Smaller metal particles that go through the screen 2 are stopped and held by the magnets. These magnets will not allow the metal particles to go with the oil through the hydraulic system.
The oil then flows through the tube assembly to the transmission oil pump.
