(A) 20 degrees

(1) Turbine housing clamp

The alignment of the v-band clamp cannot exceed 20 degrees from the inlet port of the turbine housing. Position the clamp in order to ensure no contact between the housing and t-bolt.

(2) Nut

Use the following torque procedure in order to secure the nut of the clamp on the turbocharger

Note: Lubricate threads before assembly with 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound or equivalent.

  1. Tighten nut (2) to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  1. Tap lightly around the clamp.

  1. Tighten the nut again to 30 ± 2 N·m (22 ± 1.5 lb ft)

  1. Tap lightly around the clamp again.

  1. Tighten the nut again to 30 ± 2 N·m (22 ± 1.5 lb ft)

Note: Tighten the nut again after running the engine to operating temperature. Allow the engine to cool before tightening the nut again. The clamp is a one time use only part. Do not retighten a loose clamp, replace.
