Service Magazine SEPD1333, 27 September 2011, "Shipping Location of Keys for Machines Equipped with a Machine Security System (MSS)". The machine effectivity in this article has been updated. Refer to the following information.

Machines fitted with a Machine Security System (MSS) are shipped with two keys that are encoded to the MSS on the machine. The keys will have been enabled to the machine during assembly. The MSS is then disabled to allow any Caterpillar key to operate the machine up to delivery. Dealers will have to reconfigure the MSS to use the MMS keys shipped with the machine.
