The Buffers for the Exhaust Temperature Sensors Are Relocated on C175 Engines in 793F, 795F, and 797F Off-Highway Trucks {1408}

Usage:

795F AC ERM
Off-Highway Truck:
793F (S/N: SND1-UP; SSP1-UP)
795FSeries AC (S/N: ERM1-UP)
797F (S/N: LAJ1-UP)
Service Magazine SEPD1313, 10 August 2011, "The Buffers for the Exhaust Temperature Sensors Are Relocated on C175 Engines in 793F and 797F Off-Highway Trucks". The original article was revised to add the 793F S/N:SND
and the 795F S/N:ERM
. The effective serial numbers have also been added. No other information has changed.

The buffers for the exhaust temperature sensors were relocated to a lower retention bolt on the valve covers. Relocation of the buffers reduces the possibility of damage from overheating.

If a problem occurs with a buffer for either of these temperature sensors in the original location, install a new sensor and relocate the buffer:

Install a new 345-9731 Exhaust Temperature Sensor Gp with the buffer located on the valve cover as shown below.

Illustration 1 shows the original location of the buffer on the left side of the engine. Illustration 2 shows the routing of the wire and the new location for the buffer on the left side of the engine.

Illustration 3 shows the original location of the buffer on the right side of the engine. Illustration 4 shows the routing of the wire and the new location for the buffer on the right side of the engine.
