(10) Saw motor. (X1) Pressure line from machine. (X2) Drain line to machine. |
A variable displacement bent axis motor drives the output shaft of the saw. Saw motor (10) is mounted to an adapter plate and coupled to the drive shaft by a splined coupler. Hydraulic oil for the saw motor is supplied by a pump that is mounted on the machine. The speed of the disc saw cannot be adjusted at the saw motor. Adjust the speed of the disc saw at the saw pump that is mounted on the machine.
ReferenceFor more information on adjusting the speed of the disc saw, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Disc Saw Speed - Test and Adjust".
Disc saw (8) rotates at a constant high speed in order to fell a tree. The felling head is powered through the tree. The accumulator arms clamp the tree to the head after the cutting is complete.
ReferenceFor more information on the saw motor, refer to System Operation, "Cutoff System".
Grapple Arms

(2) Grapple cylinder. (X3) Grapple arms close. (X4) Grapple arms open. |
Grapple cylinder (2) control the movement of grapple arms. The grapple cylinder (2) close the grapple arms onto the log during the felling of a tree.
For more information on the grapple arms, refer to System Operation, "Holding System".
Accumulator Arms

(3) Accumulator arms (cylinder). (X5) Accumulator arms open. (X6) Accumulator arms close. |
Accumulator arm cylinder (3) control the movement of accumulator arms. The accumulator arm cylinder (3) close onto the log. The accumulator holds the tree in the head when the head cuts multiple trees.
ReferenceFor more information on the accumulator arms, refer to System Operation, "Holding System".
