Cylinders equipped with lock valves can remain pressurized for very long periods of time, even with the hoses removed.

Failure to relieve pressure before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder can result in personal injury or death.

Ensure all pressure is relieved before removing a lock valve or disassembling a cylinder.

  1. Install Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto hood (1) .

  1. Open door (2).

  1. Disconnect hose assemblies (3). Remove valve (4) in order to relieve hydraulic pressure from the cylinder. Remove pin (5) .

  1. Close door (2) and install a bolt in order to secure door (2). Remove bolts (6) .

  1. Use Tooling (A) in order to raise the hood approximately 152 mm (6.0 inch). DO NOT REMOVE THE HOOD AT THIS TIME.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (7). Harness assembly (7) must be disconnected prior to the removal of the hood.

  1. Remove hood (1). The weight of hood (1) is approximately 635 kg (1400 lb).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install hood (1) in the reverse order of removal.
