The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Recent reports indicate that the Steering and Transmission Integrated Controls (STIC) may not be operating correctly. The 177-4113 STIC Control Gp may encounter the following issues:

  • The transmission may not shift directions.

  • The upshift button is inoperative.

  • The downshift button is inoperative.

  • The transmission performs intermittent shifting.

Preliminary analysis of field return parts indicates that the ground wire within the 177-4113 STIC Control Gp is breaking due to loose mounting of the Forward Neutral Reverse switch.

Solution

Replace the 177-4113 STIC Control Gp with a new 177-4113 STIC Control Gp .
