顺序阀是先导操作的常闭芯式阀。

发动机运转时，顺序阀确保制动器释放系统停用。
发动机运转时，端口 (1) 处存在先导油压。 先导油压将克服弹簧压力移动制动器释放顺序阀 (4) 中的滑阀。 制动器释放顺序阀 (4) 中的滑阀移动时，机油从制动器释放系统的端口 (2) 通过端口 (3) 流向液压油箱。 此时停用制动器释放系统。
发动机停机时，端口 (1) 处不存在先导油压。 弹簧压力将制动器释放顺序阀 (4) 中的滑阀移到到常闭位置。 端口 (2) 和端口 (3) 此时被挡住。 启用制动器释放系统时，来自制动器释放油缸的机油将分离停车制动器。
