Replacing the Margin Pressure Adjustment Plug
- Raise the cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Cab Tilting - Tilting the Cab Upward".
- Pull a vacuum on the hydraulic tank in order to minimize loss of hydraulic oil.
- Locate the pump control valve (1) on the high flow pump. Loosen setscrew (2). See Illustration 1.
Illustration 1 | g01524164 |
- Note the installed depth of the margin pressure adjustment plug (3) inside the pump control valve. This will be helpful in order to minimize the amount of adjustment that is needed after installing the replacement margin pressure adjustment plug.
- Remove the margin pressure adjustment plug (3). Ensure that the springs and the internal components remain in place inside the valve.
- Install the replacement plug into the pump control valve. Ensure that the O-ring seal and the backup ring are in place on the plug before you install the plug. Screw the plug into the pump control valve to the installed depth of the former plug.
- Set the margin pressure and the high pressure cutoff. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "High Flow Hydraulic System - Test and Adjust - If Equipped".
When you have completed the adjustments, hold adjustment plug (3) in position and tighten set screw (2) to a torque of 9.15 ± 1.65 N·m (6.75 ± 1.2 lb ft).
Note: Do not overtighten the set screw.
- Lower the cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Cab Tilting - Tilting the Cab Downward".
