Flywheel Housing - Remove and Install
Removal Procedure

Start By:
- Remove the flywheel and pump drive gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel and Rear Gear Group - Remove and Install".
- Remove the electric starter motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starter Motor - Remove and Install".

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Attach a suitable lifting device to engine (1). The weight of engine (1) is approximately 1089 kg (2400 lb). Use the suitable lifting device in order to raise engine (1) enough to reposition Tooling (A) away from the flywheel housing.

- Remove bolts (2) and retainer (3). Remove gear assembly (4). Repeat for gear assembly (5) .

- Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel housing (7). The weight of flywheel housing (7) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb).
- Remove bolts (6). Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to remove flywheel housing (7) .

- Apply Tooling (C) to the entire mounting surface of flywheel housing (7) .

- Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to flywheel housing (7). The weight of flywheel housing (7) is approximately 113 kg (250 lb). Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to position flywheel housing (7) to the engine. Install bolts (6) .
- Install gear assembly (4). Install retainer (3) and bolts (2). Repeat for gear assembly (5) .
End By:
- Install the electric starter motor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Electric Starter Motor - Remove and Install".
- Install the flywheel and pump drive gear. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Flywheel and Rear Gear Group - Remove and Install".
