    NOTICE

    Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

    Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Position the tracks. Pins (1) must be positioned, as shown.

  1. Remove the hood. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hood - Remove and Install".

  1. Remove the side guards. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Side Guards - Remove and Install".

  1. Drain the coolant into a suitable container for proper storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Coolant - Fill".

  1. Position a suitable container under hoses (2) and (3). Disconnect hoses (2) and (3) .

  1. Attach Tooling (A) onto hydraulic tank (4). Attach an air supply hose onto Tooling (A). Apply 276 kPa (40 psi) to 414 kPa (60 psi) of air. This procedure will pull vacuum on the hydraulic system.

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (5) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (6) .

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (8). Disconnect hose assembly (9). Disconnect hose assembly (10) .

  1. Remove hose (11) .

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (12). Remove bolt (13) .

  1. Loosen clamps (14). Slide hose (15) toward the engine. Remove hose (16) .

  1. Remove plate (17).

  1. Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device onto radiator guard (18) .

  1. Remove bolt (19). Remove pin (1). Use Tooling (C) in order to remove pin (1) .

  1. Repeat Step 16 for the opposite side.

  1. Tilt radiator guard (18). Attach Tooling (D) .
