Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Greenwich Mean Time (Coordinated Universal Time) is not supported by VIMS. This causes problems when downloading the event list with VIMSpc. This document describes how to set the time on a VIMS-Advisor machine so that you will not have problems downloading the event list with VIMSpc.
Note: This procedure can also be used to avoid time-related problems with third party telemetry systems such as Minestar, Modular Mining Radios, etc.
Solution
Follow the procedure below to avoid problems downloading the event list with VIMSpc. This procedure only needs to be executed when the time and the time zone are being set with Electronic Technician (ET), version 2005A, 2005Bv1, 2005Bv2, or 2006Av1.
- Connect to the VIMS module with Cat ET. Navigate to the Electronic Control Module (ECM) Date/Time screen.
- If you want VIMS to automatically adjust for daylight savings time go to Step 2.a. If you do not wish to use daylight savings go to Step 2.b.
- If you want VIMS to automatically adjust for daylight savings time, set the time zone to (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London, the GMT time zone with daylight savings.
- Change the time zone to (GMT) Casablanca, Monrovia, the GMT time sone without daylight savings.
