Boom Kickout Mechanism - Remove

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove bolts (1), the washers, and cover (2) .

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (3). Remove bolts (4) and sensor (5) .

  1. Attach a suitable lifting device to pin assembly (6). The combined weight of the kickout mechanism and pin assembly (6) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).

  1. Remove bolts (7) and the washers.

  1. Carefully slide kickout mechanism (8) to the minimum distance that is needed to install a second suitable lifting device to the kickout mechanism.

  1. Remove bolts (9), the washers, and pin assembly (6) .

    Spring force can cause personal injury or death.

    Do not repair until you have read the Operation and Maintenance Manual.

  1. Position kickout mechanism (8) into a suitable press in order to remove the cotter pin, nut (10) and the washer.

  1. Once the spring tension has been released, remove collar (11) and rod assembly (13) from spring (12) .

    Note: When spring (11) is compressed, Dimension (X) should be 714 ± 3 mm (28.1 ± 0.1 inch). The free length of spring (11) is 748 mm (29.4 inch).
