Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the torque converter scavenge pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Torque Converter Scavenge Pump - Remove.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before you begin the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism. Precision components can be damaged by contaminants or by dirt. Perform disassembly procedures on a clean work surface. Keep components covered and protected at all times.

1. Remove two bolts (1) and adapter (2).

2. Remove the O-ring seal from adapter (2).

3. Remove six bolts (3) and manifold assembly (4).

4. Remove O-ring seal (5) and bearings (6) from manifold assembly (4).

   Note: Put identification marks on gear assemblies (7) and (8) for installation purposes.

5. Remove gear assemblies (7) and (8).

6. Remove body assembly (8) from cover assembly (9).

7. Remove O-ring seal (10) from cover assembly (9).

9. Remove O-ring seal (12) and lip seal (13) from cover assembly (9).
