Remove ice, snow, or other slippery material from the loading dock and from the truck bed before you load the machine onto the transport machine. Removing ice, snow, or other slippery material will help to prevent the machine from slipping in transit.
Note: Obey all laws that govern the characteristics of a load (height, weight, width, and length). Observe all regulations that govern wide loads.
When you move the machine to a colder climate, make sure that the cooling system has the proper antifreeze.

Before you load the machine, chock the trailer wheels or the rail car wheels, as shown.
Before loading or shipping the machine, ensure that all covers are properly latched and that the operator seat is pinned in the forward facing direction.
The machine can be transported as a 3353 mm (11 ft) wide load, if the screed extensions are retracted within the screed. The end gates must be removed. The hopper wings must be raised and secured together in the up position.
Raise the screed. Engage the screed travel locks.
Raise the adjustable augers to the most upright position.
NOTICE |
---|
In order to avoid possible machine damage, back the machine onto the trailer. Ship the machine with the screed on blocks, and the tow arm cylinders fully retracted. Extendable screed must be parallel and inline before retracting. |
Engage the parking brake.
Stop the engine.
Turn the start switch to the OFF position. Remove the start switch key.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the disconnect switch key.
Lock the door and the access covers. Attach any vandalism protection.
Chock the tires. Secure the machine with tie-downs.
NOTICE |
---|
Rotation of the turbocharger without engine operation can result in damage to the turbocharger. Cover the exhaust opening or secure the rain cap in order to prevent the turbocharger from windmilling in transit. |
After the machine is on the trailer, lower the screed onto blocks that support the screed fully across the width of the screed. Install the cover on the console. Cover the operator seat.
Cover the exhaust opening or secure the rain cap in order to prevent the turbocharger from windmilling in transit.
To protect the cooling systems, mix the solution of antifreeze and water. The solution should provide protection to the lowest expected outside temperature. If coolant is removed, drain the coolant into a suitable container.
Perform a walk-around inspection and measure the fluid levels in the various compartments.
Travel at a moderate speed. Observe all speed limitations when you are roading the machine.
