Intended Use
An Asphalt Paver is a mobile road construction machine used for placement of paved surfaces using bulk material - most commonly, hot mix asphalt - supplied by delivery vehicles to the paver's front hopper.
The AP-1000D Asphalt Paver is a heavy duty paver that can place paving surfaces for many applications including (but not limited to) parking lots, roads and streets, highways and motorways. It accepts delivery of asphalt mix from a truck or material transfer vehicle at the front and contains the mix in a hopper. Slat conveyors move the mix from the hopper to the rear where the mix flows onto the ground ahead of the screed. Flight augers convey the deposited mix laterally to the specified width as controlled by the screed. The screed, towed by the tractor, shapes and levels the mix to the specified dimensions. The slope and grade of the final asphalt surface is precisely controlled to achieve a high degree of flatness using sensors and references mounted on the paver. The paver can be configured with different types of screeds to satisfy common customer paving requirements.
