Automatic Lubrication System - Test

Usage:

725 B1L
In order to test the lubrication system, two different test cycles can be performed through the test button:

  • The single test cycle, which cycles through primary grease line (A) or primary grease line (B).

  • The continuous test cycle, which cycles through successive greasing cycles through primary grease line (A) or primary grease line (B).

Note: If the system is pumping, the system will not respond when the test button is pressed.

Note: The signal lamp will indicate malfunctions that occur during the test cycle in the usual manner. For additional information on the causes and the solutions of the malfunctions, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Automatic Lubrication System Troubleshooting".

Note: The control unit does not record the event statistics during a test cycle. Information that is recorded during a test cycle could distort the real performance of the lubrication system.

Single Test Cycle

In order to perform a single test cycle, perform the following procedure.

  1. Turn on the engine start switch.

  2. Push the test button on the pump unit for at least 2 seconds. Do not press the test button for more than six seconds.

The single test cycle has been activated. The signal lamp will flash throughout the entire lubrication cycle. When a malfunction occurs, the sequence of the flashing will change in order to report the malfunction.

The single test cycle only tests one of the primary grease lines. In order to test the other primary grease line, a second single test cycle must be performed with the 5/2 valve.

Continuous Test Cycle

Note: During the continuous test cycle, extra grease can be quickly added to the lubrication points. The lubrication system can also be bled during the continuous test cycle.

Note: In extreme weather conditions, it is possible that the lubrication system fails to perform the continuous test cycle correctly. In such a case, use the single test cycle.

In order to perform a continuous test cycle, perform the following procedure.

  1. Turn on the engine start switch.

  2. Push the test button on the pump unit for at least 6 seconds.

The system will begin to pump. The pressure in one primary grease line will increase while the pressure in the other grease line will decrease.

The signal lamp will flash throughout the entire test. When a malfunction occurs, the sequence of the flashing will change in order to report the malfunction.

  3. Turn off the engine start switch in order to end the continuous test cycle.
