Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Position heater (16) onto suitable cribbing.

  2. Position relays (18) (not shown) to the outside of heater (16). Install bolts (17). Remove the suitable cribbing under heater (16).

  3. Connect harness assemblies (15).

  4. Connect hose assemblies (14). Connect hoses (13). Position cable assembly (12). Install bolt (11).

  5. Install cover plate (10).

  7. Connect harness assembly (8). Install cover (7).

  9. Position cover (5). Install bolts (4).

  10. Install covers (3). Position cushion (2) and tighten knob (1).

  11. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System (ELC) - Change".

  12. Recharge the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant". Refer to Special Publication, NEDG5065, "Air Conditioning Tools".

  13. Install the primary air filter and the secondary air filter for the cab. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual , "Cab Air Filter - Clean/Replace".

End By:

  1. Install the seat. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Seat - Remove and Install".
