Crankshaft Pulley

Usage:

Remove & Install Crankshaft Pulley

1. Remove vee belts (1) from the front of the engine.

2. Remove bolt (2) and washer (3) from the crankshaft.


Typical Example

3. Use Tooling (A) to pull pulley assembly (4) from the crankshaft.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the crankshaft pulley.

4. Put clean engine oil on the lip of the front crankshaft seal and sealing surface of the crankshaft pulley.

5. Put crankshaft pulley (4) in position on the end of the crankshaft.


Typical Example

6. Install the screw of Tooling (B) in the end of the crankshaft. Put the crossbar of Tooling (B) on the screw and against the pulley. Use Tooling (B) to push the pulley on to crankshaft until it makes contact with crankshaft gear inside timing gear housing. Remove Tooling (B).

7. Install washer (3) and bolt (2) in the end of the crankshaft. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 624 ± 80 N·m (460 ± 60 lb ft).

8. Install the vee belts and make an adjustment to the belt tension. See the V-Belt Tension Chart in the Specifications Manual.
