Procedure for Installing New Fuel Tanks{1273}

Introduction

The following document is designed to be a guideline for installing the new fuel tanks on certain Motor Graders.

  1. Remove previous fuel tanks (1) and (2). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4164, "120H and 135H Motor Graders Machine Systems", "Fuel Tank (Right Hand) - Remove". Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4164, "120H and 135H Motor Graders Machine Systems", "Fuel Tank (Left Hand) - Remove".

  1. Install the following new parts on new fuel tanks (1) and (2) :

    • (3) Bracket

    • (4) Bracket

  1. Install the remaining parts that were not replaced from the previous fuel tanks on new fuel tanks (1) and (2) .

  1. Install new fuel tanks (1) and (2) on the machine.

  1. Install hose (5) .

  1. Install panel (6). If panel (6) does not bolt to the enclosure for the package, refer to Step 7.

    Enclosure for the cooling package

    (7) Weld nuts

  1. Drill two holes in the enclosure for the cooling package, as shown. Weld two nuts (7) to the inside of the enclosure for the cooling package.

  1. Install panel (6) .

  1. Remove previous fuel tanks (1) and (10). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4124, "12H, 140H, and 160H Motor Graders Machine Systems", "Fuel Tank (Right Hand) - Remove". Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR4124, "12H, 140H, and 160H Motor Graders Machine Systems", "Fuel Tank (Left Hand) - Remove".

  1. Install the following new parts on new fuel tanks (1) and (10) :

    • (2) Bolt

    • (3) Washer

    • (4) Bracket

    • (5) Bolt

    • (6) Washer

    • (7) Vent Assembly

    • (8) Gasket

    • (9) Bracket

  1. Install the remaining parts that were not replaced from the previous fuel tanks on new fuel tanks (1) and (10) .

  1. Install new fuel tanks (1) and (10) on the machine.

  1. Install hose (11) .

  1. Install panel (12). If panel (12) does not bolt to the enclosure for the cooling package, refer to Step 7.

    (7) Weld nuts

  1. Drill two holes in the enclosure for the cooling package, as shown. Weld two nuts (13) to the inside of the enclosure for the cooling package.

  1. Install panel (12) .

  1. Install hose (19) .

  1. Install panel (20). If panel (20) does not bolt to the enclosure for the cooling package, refer to Step 7.

    (7) Weld nuts

  1. Drill two holes in the enclosure for the cooling package, as shown. Weld two nuts (21) to the inside of the enclosure for the cooling package.

  1. Install panel (20) .

  1. Install the following new parts on new fuel tanks (1) and (14) :

  1. Install the remaining parts that were not replaced from the previous fuel tanks on new fuel tanks (1) and (14) .

  1. Install new fuel tanks (1) and (14) on the machine.

    (7) Weld nuts

  1. Drill two holes in the enclosure for the cooling package, as shown. Weld two nuts (21) to the inside of the enclosure for the cooling package.

  1. Install panel (20) .

  1. Install the following new parts on new fuel tanks (1) and (12) :

    • (2) Bolts

    • (3) Washers

    • (4) Vent Assembly

    • (13) Bracket

    • (14) Bolts

    • (15) Washers

  1. Install the remaining parts that were not replaced from the previous fuel tanks on new fuel tanks (1) and (12) .

  1. Install new fuel tanks (1) and (12) on the machine.

  1. Install panel (10) and adapter (11). If panel (10) does not bolt to the enclosure for the cooling package, refer to Step 6.

    (7) Weld nuts

  1. Drill two holes in the enclosure for the cooling package, as shown. Weld two nuts (16) to the inside of the enclosure for the cooling package.

  1. Install hose (9), hose (7), hose (8), and tube (6) .
