(1) Charge filter |
Charge filter (1) is located on the rear left side of the paver. The charge filter is mounted to the front side of the hydraulic tank.
The charge pump on the upper pump stack for the drag and auger conveyors delivers charge oil through this charge filter. This charge filter is a 15 micron filter.

Charge filter (1) contains the following components:
- Oil sampling port (4)
- Relief valve (5)
- Test port (6)
Charge pressure oil is delivered to charge filter (1) through the line from charge pump (2). If the bypass relief valve is not open, charge oil will go through the filter element. Charge oil can then go to either the lower pump stack or the upper pump stack. This charge oil is provided for the upper piston pumps for the drag and auger conveyors and the lower piston pumps for the drag and auger conveyors.
When the charge filter becomes plugged, charge oil will be diverted to the oil bypass manifold. The bypass setting is 345 kPa (50 psi). This oil will then be sent to the hydraulic oil cooler.
