Removal Procedure
Start By:
- Prepare the machine for disassembly and assembly procedures. For additional information, refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Preparation for Disassembly".
Note: Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires, and tubes for installation purposes. Use caps and plugs on all lines, hoses, and tubes in order to prevent fluid loss or contamination of the systems.

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Open the hood. For additional information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tilt Hood".
- Disconnect hose assemblies (1) and (3). Disconnect harness assembly (5) .

- Remove three bolts (4), the washers, the isolation mounts, and the spacers. Remove fuel priming pump (2) and the primary filter/water separator.
Installation Procedure

Keep all parts clean from contaminants. Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life. |
- Install fuel priming pump (2) and the primary filter/water separator. Install three bolts (4), the washers, the isolation mounts, and the spacers.

- Connect hose assemblies (1) and (3). Connect harness assembly (5) .
- Prime the fuel system. For additional information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Fuel System - Prime".
- Close the hood. For additional information, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Tilt Hood".
